Blue Fescue - Silver Blue 0.2g
Festuca glauca
One of the most beautiful ornamental grasses. Plants form low, dense, 20-25 cm high, spherical clumps of bluish-green leaves. In May-June, blue-gray stems with silvery inflorescences emerge from the clump. It is also an attractive winter grass, with its frosted blue clumps contrasting beautifully with the white snow. Blue Fescue blends perfectly with other plants in low borders and rock gardens. It can be used as a border plant. Sow seeds in April-May in boxes or on pallets under cover. Do not cover the seeds, just lightly press them into the soil. Germination takes 2-3 weeks at a temperature of 16-22°C. Plant out in late summer, spacing out a few seedlings at a distance of 25-30 cm. Blue Fescue requires light, well-drained, sandy soil and a sunny position.
