Perennial plants, clumped, height 25-40 cm, grown for their impressive foliage. Leaves can be of various shapes and colors - oval, lanceolate or heart-shaped, yellowish, bluish-green or variegated. Funnel-shaped white or lavender, fragrant flowers appear in clusters in the summer.
Sow seeds in March-May under cover. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. At a temperature of 18-22°C and with appropriate soil moisture, germination takes 3-5 weeks. Transplant seedlings into pots or trays. Plant in a permanent location when they have 5-6 leaves, spaced 30-35 cm apart. They prefer fertile, moist but well-drained soil, a sunny or semi-shaded position. They do not tolerate drought. Uses: for planting flower beds, edges of water streams, rock gardens, containers.
