French Lavender - Dark Purple
Lavandula stoechas
A perennial plant, reaching a height of 50-60 cm with upright stems, on which original inflorescences with dark purple bracts appear from June to October. A valuable herb for borders, cut flowers, and dried bouquets. Sow in April-May on pallets or in boxes under cover. Before sowing, put the seed packet in the freezer for 2-4 weeks. Germination occurs after 14-21 days at a temperature of 16-20°C. Plant in a permanent location in July-August, spacing them 30-40 cm apart. Protect plants from freezing in winter. It grows well in moderately fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny location.
