Latin name: Cucurbita maxima
A plant with a high level of fertility. It quickly forms rapidly growing plants with a creeping habit, with stems that can reach over 10m in length. Several fruits with a slightly flattened, spherical shape, sometimes slightly elongated, appear on a single plant. It prefers fertile, humus-rich soil.
The fruits weigh from 15kg to 50kg, are round, slightly flattened, with an orange, delicate skin covered with a delicate grayish mesh. The flesh is dense, dark orange, juicy, and crispy. It stands out for its extraordinary taste. The fruits have a high content of carotenoids and vitamin C. Ideal for soups. Best for direct consumption, freezing, and processing, where it retains its color and nutritional value. It stores very well and can survive for several months after harvesting. It does not tolerate low temperatures well. Harvest the fruits before the first frost.
