OKRA 'CLEMSON SPINELESS'
An annual plant with upright stems that can grow up to 1m tall. Considered one of the best varieties in the world. In the summer, yellow flowers with red spots on the petals grow from the corners of the large leaves, followed by cone-shaped, green fruits. Okra can be used as an ornamental plant, vegetable, or herb. Immature fruits are prepared for consumption in a similar way to asparagus: boiled, fried, or pickled. They are also helpful in treating stomach ailments. The seeds are quite oily, so they can be eaten after roasting or used as a coffee substitute. They are grown in a sunny, wind-protected location. Sow in April, harvest from July to August.
