Zea mays var. Saccharata
A late variety producing small, conical, narrow and tasty cobs. Plants are of medium height. The best for harvesting are young, immature, juicy and sweet cobs, about 10-12cm long, which are suitable for direct consumption or can be used to make preserves or as an addition to salads or other dishes. Seeds are sown in spring after the last frost, 2-3 seeds per depth of 2-4 cm. After germination, thin out leaving 2 plants in one spot. It likes warm, sunny positions, sheltered from the wind, and soils rich in nutrients.
