A perennial plant. Its straight, hairy stem with many leaves grows up to 2-3m in the second year. It prefers sunny or semi-shaded positions. It should be watered frequently and covered for winter. In folk medicine, it was used for upper respiratory tract ailments. It is sometimes added to herbal teas because of its delicate taste.
