MEDICINAL HYSSOP
A perennial plant with strongly scented camphor and bitter-tasting leaves. It prefers sunny, wind-protected locations with warm, calcium-rich, light, sandy-clay soil. It does not like acidic or cold soil. Sow directly into the ground or from seedlings. Used fresh or dried as a seasoning for salads, raw vegetables, meats, vegetable dishes, cottage cheese, and pâtés. Considered a safe medicinal herb. Folk medicine recommended it for coughs and inflammations, improving digestion, and rheumatic pains.
