Centranthus ruber
A perennial plant with upright stems topped with dense spikes of small flowers. Sow seeds in a nursery from April to June and transplant to a permanent location in September. Blooms from June to September in the second year of cultivation. Recommended for cultivation in flower beds, perennial borders, and as a cut flower. Requires a calcareous soil that is not too moist.
